Portion Of Thames Street Closed For Next 2-3 Weeks

Thames Street is closed between Ledyard Avenue and the intersection of Eastern Point Road at Smith Street ​for retaining wall repair.

GROTON CITY, CT — For the next few weeks, Thames Street is closed between Ledyard Avenue and the intersection of Eastern Point Road at Smith Street for repairs to the retaining wall, Groton City posted on Facebook.

Officials said that traffic is detoured onto Ledyard Avenue and Smith Street. Repairs will take approximately two to three weeks, they said.

It appears that school bus stops and times will change as a result.

"We have been in contact with the Groton Board of Education Transportation Coordinator and we suggest you contact them at 860-572-2100 if you have any questions regarding changes to bus stops, pick-ups or times. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the project, please feel free to contact the Public Works office at 860-446-4164."
