Special Olympics Groton Seeks Athletes of All Abilities for Winter Sports Season

Special Olympics Groton is in need of athletes interesting in training for aquatics, basketball, floor hockey, snow shoe and Nordic skiing.

GROTON, CT - Special Olympics Groton, a Special Olympics Connecticut Local Program serving individuals of all abilities in and around the Groton community, will begin winter training soon and seeks new participants. The group is especially in need of athletes who would like to train for aquatics, basketball, floor hockey, snow shoe and Nordic skiing to train and compete in the winter games in March. Athletes will participate in training at locations in and near Groton will attend practices 1 time a week. They will go on to compete in a qualifying event and then alongside athletes from across the state at the Special Olympics Connecticut, which will be held in March. Practices begin in December. All registration is due by December 1st.
