Town Of Groton Releases Guidelines On Tax Relief

GROTON, CT — Governor Ned Lamont through Executive Order 9R allows municipalities to provide temporary tax relief options for their community in response to the pandemic. The Low Interest Rate and Tax Deferment Program cover any tax, water & sewer bill that becomes due January 1, 2021.

The Town of Groton will be offering low interest rate and deferment program for motor vehicle supplemental, second installment of 2019 Grand List and 3rd quarter residential Sewer taxes. This program is not being offered to back tax bills.

In order to participate in the Covid relief programs, businesses, landlords and non-profits will need to submit application and documentation by February 1, 2021, no extensions. Applications can be found on the Town of Groton website Groton-ct.gov. Any required documentation can be emailed to taxcollector@Groton-ct.gov.
