Two Injured in Head-on Collision in Groton
One driver had to be extricated from the car after the crash on Gold Star Highway.
Two drivers were injured in a head-on collision on Gold Star Highway Thursday night, Poquonnock Bridge Fire Deputy Chief Curt Floyd said.
A Volvo and a Ford pickup truck crashed head-on at 8:16 p.m. in front of United Rentals, he said.
The driver of the Volvo had to be extricated from the car; the accident report indicated neck, back and facial injuries, along with possible leg injuries, Floyd said.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
