Municipal Meetings

Monday: The Board of Education Curriculum Committee meets at 5:30 in the Central Office and the Board of Education - Committee of the Whole meets at 7 p.m.

Tuesday:The Town Council Committee of the Whole meets in the Town Hall Annex at 6 p.m.; the Poquonnock Bridge Fire District Board of Directors - Special Meeting is at 6:30 in the Groton Senior Center.

Wednesday: The Master Plan Committee meets at 6 p.m. in the Groton Senior Center; the Inland Wetlands Agency meets at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex.

Monday: Today’s the last installment of the Mystic Aquarium’s “Dog Days of Summer.” The program features animal handlers of finned and furry friends and is free with museum admission. Visit the Mystic Aquarium website for a complete schedule.

Tuesday: Visit the Mystic Art Center’s commemorative exhibit, “Mystic as Muse: 100 Years of Inspiration,” which features paintings, prints, drawings, etc., from artists active in the Mystic Arts Association from the late 19th Century to the present day. The MAC is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday: Go to the Groton Public Library for tonight’s Civil War inspired discussion “For the Sake of the Country: Women Spies of the Civil War” from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Thursday: Tonight, the Groton Public Library is hosting another Civil War discussion titled, ““Soldier’s Heart”: A Study of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in the American Civil War" from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  

Friday: The Mystic Farmers Market is today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind the Mystic Arts Center on Water Street.
