Groton Utilities announced Wednesday around 4 p.m. that it has shut down water service to customers along Route 1 from South Road to Plaza Court.Â
A water main broke Wednesday morning they say repairs are expected to last long into the evening.
Route 1 between South Road and Buddington Road is closed and there are detours in place.Â
