What’s Open in Groton on Thanksgiving?

If you’re looking for a place to eat on Thanksgiving in Groton or Mystic and don’t feel like cooking, several restaurants are open.
Here are some suggestions, from our faceboook and around town:
- Groton Townhouse Restaurant is open 24 hours Thanksgiving Day. You can eat in or place an order. The restaurant website has posted seven Thanksgiving specials so you can check them out in advance. Choices include a turkey special with stuffing, turnips, mashed potatoes, soup or salad and dessert; baked ham, served with pineapple raisin sauce, soup or salad, potato, vegetable and dessert. Both are $15.95. The prime rib special is $19.95. The phone number is (860) 449-035.
- Latitude 41 Restaurant in Mystic is serving a Thanksgiving Day Buffett from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Options include herb roasted turkey breast, pan gravy and cranberry orange sauce; blackened sirloin of beef, and horseradish cream brown sugar glazed pit ham. The cost is $38.95 for adults, $19 for children ages 6-10. Children 5 and under are free. Reservations are recommended; the number is (860) 572-5303.
- The Fisherman Restaurant of Noank is also open on Thanksgiving, and the menu is posted online. It includes eight entrees including roasted turkey with apple, cranberry and sage stuffing and all the trimmings ($22), fresh Atlantic Salmon roasted in filo dough with asparagus ($23) and Steamed or stuffed fresh lobster with asparagus ($27-$31).
