Qunnipiac Field Plans Criticized at Hamden Planning and Zoning Meeting
Though the university remains committed to its plans, it has been met with opposition in the community.

Quinnipiac University’s plans for two stadiums to be constructed around its two existing fields was met with more opposition during Tuesday’s Planning and Zoning Commission hearing, according to the New Haven Register.
Plans include mainly construction of locker rooms and bathrooms at each of the fields, with the construction of stadium seating above those buildings planned for both, the New Haven Register reported. One would accommodate 1,500 people and 500 for the other.
Many residents reportedly see the construction as two monstrous undertakings, specifically members of the Sleeping Giant Park Association. They and other opposing residents anticipate more traffic than the area can handle and negative effects on the park, the New Haven Register reported.
