Casino Bar Stabbing, Fight Leads To Arrest Of MA Man: Report

MASHANTUCKET, CT — An altercation at a Foxwood Resort Casino bar resulted in a 34-year-old man being stabbed a number of times, Saturday. Tribal police said a 40-year-old Massachusetts man was charged in connection with the incident.

Mashantucket Tribal Police Chief William Dittman said police are investigating after a fight broke out at the Centrale Bar in Fox Tower early Saturday morning. Police said Robert Haines of 46 Medford St., Chicopee, was arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault in connection with the incident. But Dittman told Patch the charge was not for the stabbing.

Taken to William W. Backus Hospital, Dittman said the victim, Donovan Alves, 34, of Providence, is listed is in stable condition. He'd told WFSB that Alves "lost a lot of blood."
