Crews Extinguish 2-Acre Brush Fire In Ledyard
State officials said it was one of three brush fires extinguished Wednesday.
LEDYARD, CT — The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection posted on social media that staff extinguished three fires Wednesday. The fires in Hampton, Ledyard, and Wolcott were all contained.
The Hampton fire covered one acre and was caused by wood stove ash. The 2.4-acre fire in Ledyard was caused by illegal brush fire.
The cause of the 7-acre brush fire in Wolcott was unknown.
