CT Man Accused Of Murder Says Wife Killed Family: Report
Anthony Todt has claimed in a letter that his wife was responsible for killing the couple's children and herself.
COLCHESTER, CT — A former Connecticut man charged with killing his family in their Florida home is now claiming that his wife killed the couple's three children and then herself, The Associated Press reported. Anthony Todt, 44, made the claim in a 27-page letter he wrote to his father in Massachusetts June 19 while in Osceola County Jail.
Prosecutors copied the letter as evidence and it was later released to the Orlando Sentinel.
Todt claims in the letter that his wife, Megan, put 13-year-old Alek, 11-year-old Tyler and 4-year-old Zoe to sleep using a dessert laced with Benadryl. He claims she then stabbed and suffocated the children, according to The AP.

The Todt family had recently moved to Celebration. On Jan. 13, police came to the family's home as part of an investigation into a healthcare scheme Anthony Todt was running through his physical therapy business, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
That day police intended to charge him with healthcare fraud. However, Anthony Todt refused to answer the door at the family's Reserve Place home and police forced their way in, The New Haven Register reported. At that point, he said that his wife was "sleeping upstairs," but police performed a protective sweep.
They discovered four bodies in the home and began a death investigation. Anthony Todt had taken an unknown amount of Benadryl in an attempt to commit suicide and was unsteady on his feet when police arrived at the home.
The state of Florida is seeking the death penalty in the case. Todt has pleaded not guilty on four counts of first-degree murder.
