Fire Officials Urge No Open Burning in Ledyard After Red Flag Warning
The fire danger level remains high, Ledyard Fire Co. personnel said.
The Ledyard Fire Company released the following information on the National Weather Service's issuance of a red flag warning, ending at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 19.
The fire danger remains high. The Ledyard Fire Co. reminded residents not to conduct any open burning until the fire danger level changes.
"There have been multiple brush fires in the region the last few days and several have put buildings at risk," fire officials said. "Please exercise extreme caution with cigarettes and any other open flame items."
