Garage Destroyed In Lantern Hill Road Fire

A fire at 592 Lantern Hill Road today in Ledyard destroyed a garage and a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home.

At around 3:12 this afternoon, Ledyard Police received reports of a fire at 592 Lantern Hill Road in town. Firefighters from Ledyard, Gales Ferry and North Stonington rushed to the scene to find a garage and an outbuilding fully involved in flames, according to a press release from the Ledyard Police Department.

Firefighters quickly put the fire out but the garage and outbuilding were destroyed and a car parked in the driveway was damaged, according to the release. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Ledyard Police Department and the Ledyard Fire Marshal.
