High School Sports Gears Up, Clyde's Is Hiring, Feels Like Fall!
Five things to get you going on Tuesday Aug. 6, 2013.

Good morning! Today is Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013. August 1! Here are five things we found for you.
1. The forecast from the National Weather Service:
- Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 79. Light and variable wind becoming south 6 to 11 mph in the morning.
- Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. South wind 5 to 7 mph.
2. In Town Hall:
- Information Technology Committee, 5:30 p.m., Annex Meeting Room, 741 Colonel Ledyard Highway
- Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission, 7 p.m., Town Council Chambers, 741 Colonel Ledyard Highway
3. The first day of school is Aug. 28, and things are starting to kick into high gear! Here are some important dates/information for you to know if your child is involved in high school sports:
- Fall Sports Night is Monday Aug. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. All students who are interested in playing a fall sport should attend the meeting with a parent or guardian.
- Football and Cheerleading begin practice on Aug. 14.
- Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Boys XC, Girls XC, Volleyball and Girls Swimming begin practice on Aug. 24.

- Assistant Athletic Director is Steven Bilheimer, sbilheimer@ledyard.net, 860-464-9600 x6225
- Pay-for-play this year is $100 per sport with every third sport free. There is a $400 cap per family.
