Man Charged In Ledyard Home Invasion, High-Speed Pursuit: Police
A Willimantic man is facing charges that he displayed a gun during a home invasion and then led police on a high-speed chase.

LEDYARD, CT — State police arrested a man following a high-speed chase Friday afternoon who is accused of being involved in a home invasion in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard, according to police.
Juquan Hurt, 25, of Willimantic, was charged with home invasion, reckless endangerment, first-degree threatening and risk of injury to a child, according to Ledyard police Lt. Kenneth R. Creutz.
Creutz said in a news release that police were called to a report of a home invasion and while on the way, the people in the home described the "invading party as a black male wearing red, white and blue named Juquan."

Creutz said Hurt "reportedly displayed a handgun while in the home" and took off before police got there in a black Jeep SUV, which officers saw, and put under surveillance, the car driving north on Route 12 near the Mohegan Pequot bridge. Creutz said both Ledyard police and the Connecticut State Police chased the SUV onto the Route 2 and 32 connector highway, noting that a Ledyard cruiser and a trooper's car "suffered minor damage as the pursuit continued," until the SUV stopped and Hurt "ran off the highway on foot and into the woods where he was apprehended."
Held on $500,000 bond, he's scheduled to appear in court Monday.
