LHS Band Practice, Chance of Showers, Himalaya

Good morning! Today is Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013. Here are five things you cannot live without knowing.

1. The forecast from the National Weather Service:

• Isolated showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 65. South wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

• This French movie directed by Eric Valli stars first-time actors on location in a remote village in Nepal. The story is based on a Nepali myth about an older village chief leading his people on an extremely strenuous walk to a plateau where they trade their salt for food and supplies for the winter to come.
