PRESTON, CT — Ledyard police said they were trying to pull over 48-year-old Michael A. McAlister for traffic violations. But the Mystic man took officers on a chase instead, from Gales Ferry to Norwich and Preston before being pulled over. And, police said, they discovered that he had an active Mohegan Sun Police Department warrant.

According to a press release, on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 10:30 a.m. McAlister "engaged officers in pursuit" which ended in the Norwich Hebrew Benevolent Association Cemetery on Middle Road in Preston.

Police charged him with DUI, reckless driving, engaging officers in pursuit, and motor vehicle violations. He was booked and while released on a $10,000 non-surety bond with a Jan. 10, 2020 court date, McAlister was turned over to Mohegan Sun police on their warrant, Ledyard Police said.
