Mystic Woman, 33, Charged With DUI, Running Red Light: Police
Police say Cheryl Mackin ran a light on Rt. 12 around 11 p.m. Wednesday and when pulled over, smelled like alcohol and failed sobriety test.

LEDYARD, CT — A 33-year-old Mystic woman was charged with driving under the influence after running a Route 12 red light on Wednesday, Ledyard police said.
According to a Ledyard police press release, officers stopped the vehicle Cheryl Mackin was driving on the roadway near Chapman Lane just before 11 p.m. Wednesday and “detected the odor of alcohol emanating” from the woman.
Police said she then failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and failure to stop at a red light.

Mackin was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 8, police said.
