A Norwich woman was arrested on numerous charges following a traffic stop over the weekend.
LEDYARD, CT — A Norwich woman was arrested Saturday on a warrant that included a charge for home invasion, according to a statement from Ledyard police. The incident started when an officer attempted to stop a driver who had failed to stop at a four-way intersection, then drove north on Colonel Ledyard Highway.
The officer was able to catch up to the car and conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Thomas Road. The driver refused to provide a license, and the officer smelled the odor of marijuana, according to a police statement.
The officer asked the driver to exit the vehicle, but the driver refused the request. Following investigation, the officer discovered that the driver was wanted on a felony warrant out of Norwich.
