Ledyard Public Schools is seeking Elementary School Teachers for virtual instruction for the remainder of the 2020 - 2021 school year. This role will be located at a Ledyard Public School location while providing virtual learning for remotely located students. The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the School Administrator to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills. This position may also be posted for the 2021 - 2022 school year. The successful candidate may apply.

Qualifications:
Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with administrators, teachers and parents
Ability to promote positive self-concept in each student; provide encouragement to each student to develop his or her full potential
Proven ability to effectively use remote learning tools and resources
Experience motivating remote learners preferred
Enthusiasm for teaching and learning
Promotes a positive learning environment responsive to and respectful of the needs of students
Understands social and emotional adjustments of students
Successful elementary teaching experience
Ability to work with a diverse student population
Responsibilities:
Work in the interest of the students' physical and emotional welfare and to embrace a growth mindset
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities tailored to remote learning and that facilitate active learning experiences in the area of instruction
Accept and incorporate suggestions for virtual classroom improvement
Maintain contact with parents, school personnel as needed to evaluate students' academic and social growth
Communicate effectively orally and in writing with a variety of people, including students, their parents and staff
Continue to acquire professional knowledge by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research
Additional Duties:
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Required:
Bachelors degree
CT elementary teaching certification

Pay and Benefits:
Per the Ledyard Education Association agreement
