Good morning! Today is Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
1. The forecast from the National Weather Service
Say 'ahhhh' to this:

The deadline to pay your taxes without interest penalties is Aug. 1. According to the Tax Collector, "If payment is not made by August 1, 2013, the amount due will become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of eighteen per annum (one and one-half percent per month) from July 1, 2013. The minimum interest is 2.00 dollars. Failure to receive a tax bill does not invalidate the taxes or the interest that accrues." All the information you need can be found right here.
3. Show some love for the Ledyard Farmers' Market!
The I Love My Farmers Market Celebration encourages consumers to pledge to spend $10 at their local farmers market. Simply visit www.lovemyfarmersmarket.org and sign the online pledge form. Each week one participant and their favorite farmer will be selected to receive a free No Farms No Food® hat.
Not only does your pledge help your farmers market earn national recognition — it also helps your community. For every $10 spent on local food, as much as $7.80 is re-spent in the local community, supporting local jobs and businesses. Also, the farmer takes home almost $8-9 instead of the $1.58 that farmers and ranchers receive when food is purchased through a retail market. (Seewww.farmland.org/infographic for more fun facts!)
