LEDYARD, CT — A Mystic woman is facing charges for driving while intoxicated following an incident Sunday, according to Ledyard police. Alexa Rae Polen, 32, of 22 Willow St., was charged with failure to drive right, operating under suspension, operating without insurance, DWI, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to notify DMV of change of address, and interfering with an officer.
Ledyard police received a call at 9:21 a.m. regarding a car driving erratically northbound on Route 117. Officers pulled the vehicle over and found the driver was intoxicated.
Police found Polen to be in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia and her license status was suspended, according to police.

Polen was transported to the Ledyard Police Department where police found she was holding drugs/paraphernalia on her.
She was processed and release on a $25,000 non-surety bond. She will appear in New London Superior Court July 19.
