Woman Charged For Skipping Court, Held On $80K Bail

Nicole Hunter, 27, who cops said tried to snort coke while in a police station on Christmas Day 2017, was arrested on two active warrants.

LEDYARD, CT — Police say 27-year-old Nicole M. Hunter had two active warrants for failing to show up in court when they arrested her.

Hunter, of 117 Meetinghouse Lane, Ledyard, was charged with two counts of second-degree failure to appear. She was held on a combined $80,000 cash/surety bond.

Based on court records, Hunter was found guilty of first-degree criminal trespass in April of 2018.In May of 2019 she was arrested for violating terms of probation and was bonded out on $20,000 surety bail. Then, on Nov. 6, her re-arrest was ordered by the court.

On Christmas Day in 2017, she was arrested and charged with resisting arrest. While she was in custody at the police station, cops said she snorted cocaine. From a report in The Day at the time, patrol officers were on the lookout for an erratic driver and found Hunter in her driveway. Police said she screamed at them and they arrested her. And while waiting for a female officer at the police department to search her, cop said she pulled out what later tested to be positive for cocaine and tried to snort it.
