11 New Cases In Madison Schools, 9 At High School: Superintendent

Madison schools superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke told families that there's "no indication" the cases are a result of in-school transmission.

MADISON, CT — Madison schools reported 11 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, with 9 of those positive cases at Daniel Hand High School, superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke said in a message to families. Two of the cases are at Brown Intermediate School, he said.

Cooke noted that students who need to quarantine and work remotely have been told to do so. He said that the cases are not as a result of in-school transmission of the coronavirus.

"It is important to note that there is no indication these cases are the result of in-school transmission," Cooke wrote.

At both elementary schools there are two active staff cases and one at Brown.

As of Monday afternoon, there are 12 active high school student cases of COVID-19, the district case tracker shows.
