Brunch benefits local charity

For the third consecutive January, The Wharf Restaurant at Madison Beach Hotel pledges a percentage of revenue from its popular Sunday Brunch by the Beach to a local charity.

The annual donation is presented to Madison Community Services (MCS) Food Pantry.

Madison Community Services, Inc is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization providing services and assistance to Madison residents since 1930. One-hundred percent of funding is from private donations.

The MCS Food Pantry is maintained year-round by volunteers who collect provisions for distribution. The pantry, which is open to any Madison resident, is licensed with the Connecticut Food Bank as a Supplemental Pantry and provides three meals per person for three days. MCS Food Pantry distributes both perishable and nonperishable items including fresh fruit and vegetables, in addition to personal care items.

“Commitment to community is paramount for us,” said Wharf Manager Beth McDevitt. “We appreciate the good works of the MCS Food Pantry and are honored to make this donation.”
