Coffee House, Modeled After Guilford’s, Soon To Open In Madison
The coffee house will be at 724 Boston Post Road and serve a variety of foods, fresh egg sandwiches, lunches, coffee, and cappuccino.
MADISON, CT - The owner of the Guilford Coffee House is planning to open a similar restaurant in nearby Madison.
At the most recent Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, Joe Harvey stated that he is a lifelong resident who has been operating the Guilford Coffee House for the past two years.
Since the coffee shop in Madison closed, Harvey said there are very few places with similar items, so the plan is to open the coffee house at 724 Boston Post Road and serve a variety of foods, such as fresh egg sandwiches, lunches, coffee, and cappuccino, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., encouraging visitors of all ages, according to Harvey.

Director of Planning and Economic Development David Anderson stated that there is ample parking in the vicinity; there will be 28 seats inside and 16 outside, and he asked the Planning and Zoning Commission to waive the parking requirement for five spaces.
The 16 outdoor tables would go along the wall of the building, according to Anderson.
