Coronavirus Madison: Hair, Nail Salons & More To Close

MADISON, CT — In an effort to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, all barbers, hairdressers, cosmetologists, nail technicians, estheticians, eyelash technicians and massage therapists in Madison are directed to close until further notice, officials announced Wednesday.

“COVID 19 is spread mainly from person-to-person contact,” Madison Director of Health Trent C. Joseph wrote in a message. “The nature of your profession puts you in direct contact with your clients and customers. Therefore, the risk of transmission may be higher.

“Madison Health Department is committed to the health and safety of our residents. We appreciate your cooperation around this evolving situation.”
