MADISON, CT — An two-car crash late Tuesday night that involved a Madison police cruiser led to the arrest of the driver of the other vehicle and downed wires, shutting down the area around of Durham and Green Hill roads, police said.

According to Madison police Capt. Joseph Race, a crash shortly before midnight Tuesday with "minor injuries" that involved a police car is being investigated by Connecticut State Police. Race said that the "driver of the other car was found to be at fault and was arrested on an outstanding warrant." Race said early Wednesday morning that a Madison police officer suffered minor injuries.

The road closures also led to the Madison schools superintendent sending out an alert to families that with Green Hill Road being closed from Copse Road to Kelsey Springs and Rt. 79 closed from Green Hill to Robin Ridge due to downed wires may affect bus routes Wednesday morning.
