HARTFORD, CT — Daniel Hand and Wilton high school alternated goals throughout their Class L boys soccer championship match Saturday at Dillon Stadium. With an odd number of goals being scored, that meant whoever scored first also scored last, which proved to be beneficial to Hand.

Jack Green scored off an assist from Scott Testori with 8:14 remaining in the second overtime session, lifting the Tigers to a 4-3 victory which proved to be the school's fourth straight state title.

Prior to Green's goal, Hand had led on three different occasions, and each time the Warriors bounced back to tie it. After a scoreless opening half, Testori broke the ice with a tally just under eight minutes into the second half. Nathan Bennett tied the game for Wilton with just over 13 minutes left in regulation time.

Championship game rules call for two complete 15-minute overtime periods to be played, and Chris Porte of Hand struck early in the initial extra session. Jacob Lash responded for Wilton, but Testori netted his second of the evening to push the Tigers back into a 3-2 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.

Liam McLaughlin tied it again for the Warriors 3:54 into the period, but Green's heroics three minutes later stood up.
