MADISON, CT — With Gov. Ned Lamont's order for all residents to wear face masks in public when social distancing isn't possible, a Madison resident is stepping up to help boost the stock of masks.

Anybody can join the Masks 4 Madison effort, which means residents can sign up to get the materials to make 10 masks.

Here's how it works, as obtained from the Town of Madison Facebook.

  • You will get: written instructions, a sample, pre-cut and ready to sew pieces of cloth. A great sense of accomplishment and pride that when Madison called, you answered.
  • You will need: a sewing machine, thread and your helping heart and hands. These can be sewn by hand.
  • What you need to know: how to sew a straight line.

The town suggests this coronavirus mask pattern for those who have the materials, but not good directions, to make masks.

Anybody in need of a mask, or who wants to participate in Masks 4 Madison, can call the Madison Senior Center at 203-245-5627 or email them.
