MADISON, CT — Congratulations to the Madison Hose Co. No. 1 Firefighter of the Year, Hank Rowell.


"Madison Hose Co.No.1 would like congratulate Hank Rowell who was recognized as our Firefighter of the Year last night at the Salute To Connecticut Bravest event held at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.

Known in the department as a joker, Hank nonetheless takes firefighting very seriously. He has always had a safety- conscious yet aggressive approach to both training and scene management, even before it became a smart way to do things. Hank worked his way up the ranks of second lieutenant, and then first lieutenant. There are only four Officer positions in Madison Hose.

Hank has proven to be an old school firefighter while keeping up with the latest trends and techniques. He is passionate about volunteer services and the importance of the department within the community. His pride in being a “Hoser” is evident in every task he tackles.
