Heat Wave Triggers Cooling Station Opening In Madison

The Madison Senior Center will serve as the cooling center Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the latter 2 days, open from 8:30 to 8 p.m.

MADISON, CT — Given the heat advisory for the region, with temperatures expected to soar and the heat index expected to be above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the Madison Senior Center, 29 Bradley Road, will be open as a cooling center each day through Wednesday.

Hours are:

  • Monday until 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.

It's noted that people who are not vaccinated will be required to wear a mask while inside the Senior Center.
