MADISON, CT — The August 2020 social media post from Madison Fireworks was sad, resigned: "It's official. 2020 Fireworks weren’t meant to be."

The message was simply that the "Madison Health Department along with the Fire Marshall’s office, police and Selectperson all agreed this is not the year to maintain social distancing at the largest attended event in town."

It was hard news to hear for many who'd already been through so much. But there was optimism: "We are looking forward to the 2021 Fourth of July weekend celebration will be epic. Stay safe, Madison."
