Madison Beach Hotel Brawl Leads To Two Arrests
Brawl in the lobby of the hotel involving two groups of guests lead to injuries, property damage, arrests.

On October 12, 2013 at 12:29 a.m., the Madison Police Department received multiple 911 calls regarding a fight/brawl in the lobby at the Madison Beach Hotel, 94 West Wharf Road, Madison. Initial callers stated that as many as 10 individuals may be involved in the fight. Subsequent investigation revealed that the altercation involved individuals from two separate events occurring within the hotel, and specifically, one of the assailants attacked a family member who was present at a separate event.Â
Due to the size and extent of fight, members of both the evening and midnight patrol shifts; 9 officers in total, were dispatched to the scene to control the situation. Further, due to the non-compliance of one of the assailants, a Madison Police Officer was forced to deploy his Taser to subdue and arrest that individual.

At least four people sustained injuries and property damage was reported. Everyone involved in the altercation was evaluated by Madison Ambulance personnel and received treatment, or refused treatment for their injuries. No Madison Police Officers were injured in the altercation.
Ultimately, two individuals were arrested as the initial aggressors in the altercation.Â

Timothy Verillo, 31, of 38 Wallace Road, Branford Connecticut. Timothy Verillo was charged with violating the following Connecticut General Statutes: 53a-167a: Interfering with an Officer; 53a-181: Breach of Peace; 53a-62 Threatening in the Second Degree; and 53a-61 Assault in the Third Degree. Due to the relationship between Verillo and one of his victims, Verillo was charged under the Connecticut Domestic Violence Laws. Timothy Verillo was released on a $7500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear at G.A. 23, 121 Elm Street, New Haven on October 15, 2013 at 0900 hours.

Julia Verillo, 30, of 38 Wallace Road, Branford, Connecticut. Julia Verillo was charged with violating the following Connecticut General Statutes: 53a-61: Assault in the Third Degree (2 counts); 53a-167a: Interfering with an Officer; 53a-181 Breach of Peace; and 53a-117 Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. Julia Verillo was released on a $2500 surety bond and is scheduled to appear at G.A. 23, 121 Elm Street, New Haven on October 15, 2013 at 0900 hours. Â
