Madison Celebrated 4th Of July With Parade, Fireworks: Photos
Despite a drizzly start on Sunday, the Independence Day parade was a flag-waver. And Monday night's fireworks were spectacular.

MADISON, CT —A little rain on the parade didn't hurt a bit. The Independence Day parade Sunday put on by the Madison Exchange Club celebrated and honored COVID-19 heroes. With marchers including Gov. Ned Lamont, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, and state Senator Christine Cohen, no spirits were dampened.
"Thank you to all who marched in the Independence Day Parade and those who came out to watch. A little rain didn't dampen our spirits. Here are some behind-the-scenes pictures of our marchers and our Exchange Club members. May you and your families continue to have a happy and safe Independence Day!"

"Thank you Governor Lamont, Senator Blumenthal, and State Senator Cohen for joining us today at Madison’s Independence Day parade," wrote Madison First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons on Facebook. "We were honored to have you join us as part of our salute to Madison’s COVID heroes. And thanks to the Exchange Club for bringing back the parade this year despite many challenges."

Non-profit group Madison Fireworks soldiered on through the pandemic and the 2021 show did not disappoint. Moved from Friday to Monday due to rain, the show went on and images of the display shared all over social media.
In its Facebook post, Madison Fireworks wrote: "Thanks so much to the Town of Madison for the support for this event with particular thanks to the Madison Fire Departments and Madison Fire Marshall’s office who were on site from 7:30 AM to Midnight last night ensuring our safety. Also thanks you to all of you who contributed donations to make this event happen."
