Financial Hole Could Affect Madison Bridge Work

A newly formed committee made the financial discovery

MADISON, CT — A committee found out that the town may not have enough money for any bridge repairs or replacements that could come up in the future.

The town has no long-term plan for bridges, according to Zip 06.

The issue came up through Capital Improvement Program Committee when looking at funding for the Country Road bridge project, which is 80 percent funded through the federal government. The remaining 20 percent will be split between Madison and Killingworth. There is enough money to cover that project.
