Madison Receives $1 Million Grant To Fund Library Project
The town must still come up with the remainder of the funds in order to receive the grant.

Madison’s E.C. Scranton Memorial Library is in need of renovation and that goal is now closer to reality because of a $1 million grant provided by the Connecticut State Library Board, reports Jack Kramer of the Madison Source.
Beth Crowley, Library Director, said final approval of the award is dependent upon local fund-matching efforts, the Source reports. Town officials have three years to secure the remaining necessary funds.
The entire project could cost $14 million, which is likely to be paid through a bond authorization.
