Madison Schools' Data Shows 6 New Coronavirus Cases Monday

Several positive COVID-19 cases were reported at Daniel Hand High School Monday with two at Polson Middle School.

MADISON, CT —Monday six new cases of coronavirus were reported in Madison Public Schools, the district COVID-19 case tracker shows. Schools Superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke said in a message to families there were three cases at the high school.

The case tracker shows four cases at Daniel Hand High School and two at Polson Middle School.

Last Friday, Madison First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons notedthat schools had four active cases, including students and staff.

"Although I am grateful to see our number of active cases declining, it is important that everyone, even our vaccinated residents, continue to wear a mask in public, maintain social distancing, and wash hands frequently," she said. "The state continues to see an overall rapid uptick in cases, an indicator that we need to stay vigilant and do our part to stop the spread."
