Madison Boy Raises $1,700 for Toy Donation
Matt Gagliardi wanted to help others at Yale-New Haven Hospital after receiving care there.

MADISON, CT —Matt Gagliardi, 11, is doing something most will not this holiday season. He is working hard to purchase toys, not for himself or family members, but for people he doesn't know.
The toys he buys will go to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital’s Toy Closet, according to WTNH. He is taping hockey sticks for various local teams to help raise money.
Last year he started having seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. He was given a Lego set in the hospital.

So far he has bought $1,700 worth of toys. Every pediatric patient at Yale receives a toy from the toy closet. Yale staff says the probably hand out more than 150,000 toys a year.
