New Saturday Dates: English & US Citizenship Preparation Classes
Shoreline Adult Education to offer Free Virtual English and US Citizenship Preparation Classes on Saturdays

(MADISON, CT) - Shoreline Adult Education has added two additional virtual courses to support individuals preparing for US Citizenship and help non-native speakers learn English. For the first time, classes will be offered on Saturdays. Classes begin on January 30 and run weekly until May 22. Those interested in enrolling can do so online at shorelineadulted.org or call their office at (203) 488-5693.
Online learning conveniently allows individuals access to Shoreline Adult Education's free academic programs. These virtual classes may be accessed by a smartphone, laptop, or tablet devices.
"Students from over 50 countries participate in our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and US Citizenship Preparation courses," said Susan Kocaba, the Program Manager. "Our team takes great pride in giving our students the tools they need to achieve their academic and professional goals. Students who have completed our program have gone on to earn degrees in higher education, start fulfilling careers, and even start businesses of their own. We're so pleased to be able to offer another schedule option."

COURSE SCHEDULE:
Foundations of ESOL, 9:30-11:30 AM: students will learn to better comprehend, speak, write and use English at work and in their daily lives. Students will learn how to navigate everyday experiences of life in the United States, as well as its history, culture, holidays and current events.

US Citizenship Preparation, 10 AM - 12 PM: an US Office of Citizenship and Immigration trained instructor will teach students about the naturalization process. Classes focus on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, the 2020 version of the civics test, U.S. history and government, and the naturalization interview. The necessary qualifications and documents needed for filing will also be reviewed in depth.
