People's Bank Inside Stop & Shop Robbed, Police Seek 2 Suspects

Two white men, both at least 6-feet tall, wearing masks and gloves are the suspects in an armed bank robbery inside the Madison supermarket.

MADISON, CT — The People's Bank at the Madison Stop & Shop was robbed by two men Saturday afternoon, police said.

Just after 2 p.m., two white males, between 6 and 6' 2" tall wearing masks and gloves "displayed a firearm," Madison Police Department Capt. Race said, and fled with an unknown amount of money.

Race said the men, one wearing "mismatched gloves," fled the supermarket bank out the side entrance of the store near the pharmacy. He said they took off in a newer model, 4-door, Ford F-150 pickup truck, believed to have out-of-state license plates. The get-away truck was last seen heading east on Samson Rock Drive at a "high rate of speed."
