UPDATE: Salem Road Standoff Is Over, Man, 46, In Custody
Madison police Capt. Joseph Race said Kevin Brundrett is in custody after a more than 8-hour standoff with no one hurt.

MADISON, CT — The 46-year-old armed Madison man who held police in a standoff since 2 a.m. is now in custody, according to Madison Police Department Capt. Joseph Race. No one was hurt.
Race said Brundrett is currently being "evaluated" and will face charges related to the domestic disturbance where his parents called police to say he had threatened them.
Police said that Kevin Brundrett barricaded himself inside his parents home at 17 Salem Road Thursday morning. Madison police and the South Central Regional SWAT surrounded the house.

The guns or guns in the house are registered to Brundrett, Race said.
Race told Patch that at around 2 a.m., Madison police responded to a 911 call at the address. After getting the homeowners out of the house, Madison police officers and a SWAT team tried to coax Brundrett out.
Race said that despite calling his phone and trying to communicate with him using a loudspeaker, they heard nothing since they first arrived at 2 in the morning, when Race said he, "yelled" through a closed door.
"We had been trying since 2 a.m. to get him to come out. He's refused," Race said. "We know he does possess firearms, and he's barricaded himself. That's why we have the response we had."
At 10:30 a.m., after eight and a half hours, Race said, Brundrett "was removed from the residence and was taken into custody."
Race said police have had no prior contact with Brundrett save for traffic violations.
According to his Facebook page, Brundrett is owner of home improvement and remodeling company, Kevin's Home Repairs, in business for the past eight years.
Race said in a news release that the "The Madison Police Department would like to thank the member of the South Central Regional SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Teams for their assistance in bringing this matter to closure. Additionally, the Madison Police Department would like to thank the neighbors for their patience during the disruption this morning."
