Registration Extended for English and US Citizenship Prep Classes
Shoreline Adult Education still has openings for their free English for Speakers of Other Languages and U.S. Citizenship Preparation classes

(BRANFORD, CT) - There's still time to enroll in free classes with Shoreline Adult Education. Registration has been extended for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and U.S. Citizenship Preparation courses. Classes are free and taught virtually.
Foundations of ESOL
Students will learn to better comprehend, speak, write and use English at work and in their daily lives. Students will learn how to navigate everyday experiences of life in the United States, as well as its history, culture, holidays and current events.
Schedule: Class 1, Thursday & Friday mornings; Class 2, Monday & Wednesday evenings; Class 3, Tuesday & Thursday evenings; Class 4, Saturday mornings
Foundations of ESOL & Technology
This class combines English language instruction with civics education and the skills needed for employment in our tech-driven world. Certification and technology skills training are included through the Northstar Digital Literacy and Google Applied Digital Skills platforms. Individual career counseling and employment preparation are available to all students.
Schedule: Monday & Tuesday mornings
Foundations of ESOL for Families
In adult classes, students will learn English important to parents with young and school-aged children. At the same time, children will learn English and socialize in a fun, play-based learning environment. Parents will also have regular opportunities to discuss parenting and child development and learn strategies to support their child’s education at home.
Schedule: Class 1,Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings; Class 2 Tuesday & Thursday evenings
Citizenship Preparation
U.S. Office of Citizenship and Immigration trained instructor will teach students about the naturalization process. Classes focus on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, the 2020 version of the civics test, U.S. history and government, and the naturalization interview. The necessary qualifications and documents needed for filing will also be reviewed in depth.
