Selectmen OK Town, Schools Budget, Totaling $88.7 Million

First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons said the town and schools budgets represent a 2.34 percent increase over last year.

MADISON, CT — Monday the Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a recommended budget for the Town and Board of Education for the 2021/2022 fiscal year, First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons said.

With a 2.34 percent increase over last year, both budgets combined total $88.7 million, Lyons said. The budget includes, she said, "maintaining funding for important government services, such as education, police, fire, and ambulance, and supports the full re-opening of the new Scranton Memorial Library."

Wednesday, Lyons presented the recommended budget to the Board of Finance at a budget public hearing.
