Stand Up Comedy Workshop at The Barn
Stand Up & Learn with professional Actor/Comedian and Madison Native Kevin Flynn
Does your child have a great sense of humor?
Do they always make you laugh, (sometimes even when you shouldn’t)?
Are they quick with a come-back or a wise remark?
If you said yes, then we have a workshop for them!!!
The Barn will be hosting a Stand Up Comedy workshop on August 4th (4-5:30pm), 5th (4-5:30pm), & 6th (4-6pm). Stand Up Comedian/Actor Kevin Flynn will be teaching students to develop and create a routine using the art of comedic storytelling. Participants will not only build their self confidence through comedic self-expression, but they will be introduced to creative writing, communication, and critical thinking skills, all while laughing and having fun! There will be a final performance on the last day (August 6th) at 6:30pm at The Madison Arts Barn in Madison.
SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE!!
We have been given funding to help our community by providing scholarships to anyone adversely affected by COVID. There is NO application process, just contact us at madisonartsbarn@gmail.com.
Scholarships are open to students who are in 3rd-12th grade, from any Connecticut town, and for any of our summer programs, including workshops and camps.

Madison native Kevin Flynn is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Nantucket Comedy Festival. Along with his extensive list of stand-up performances, as an actor his credits include: Me, Myself, & Irene, The Heartbreak Kid, Osmosis Jones, & Sex in the City. He at one time hosted “Go For It” on Discovery Channel and has done a lot of sports casting for various channels.

In 2007 Kevin Flynn was devastated to learn that a rash of teen suicides had shaken the Nantucket island community. Kevin knew there was healing power in laughter, so he set his heart on applying it to the tragedy-stricken island and envisioned creating classes for kids using stand up comedy techniques to teach confidence and self esteem. Stand Up & Learn™ is an innovative educational program implemented into schools to encourage confidence through comedic self-expression.
