MADISON, CT — It was March 15, 2020 when Madison declared a state of emergency and the doors to the Town Campus were officially shuttered. All business had to be done by appointment.

Starting Monday, Town Campus offices will no longer require an appointment for certain services on Mondays and Wednesdays. And the doors will be open to the general public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on these two days. Appointments will still be required to enter the building on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The town says it intends on having the town hall "fully open to the general public five days a week starting in May."

Now, during open office hours, town officials still encourage residents to access departmental on-line services as much as possible in lieu of visiting Town Hall, and to continue to use available drop boxes located across from the Madison Police Department.

But open doors does not mean that COVID-19 mitigation measures won't be in place; they are.

"Please note that social distancing measures will be in place, and masks will be required in all town buildings," a message from First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons reads.
