Watch: 'State Of The Town' From First Selectwoman
Madison First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons: "It's been a very unusual 12 months. We're glad to put it behind us and move forward."
MADISON, CT — First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons addressed the global health crisis, community strengths and challenges, town and schools budget trends, the town's debt profile, capital plans and future initiatives in her State of the Town address Wednesday.
She began with COVID-19, which she said "dominated our lives dramatically since March" of 2020.
First, Lyons explained that while the town's vaccine clinic is up and running at the Town Gym, demand exceeds vaccine supply so far, something she said will change as she was told that the state will be getting a "significant increase" in vaccine supply soon and that the clinics should soon become a weekly event. And then she spoke about the impact of the pandemic.
