What To Know About Madison's Budget Referendum, Slated For May 18

​The 2021-2022 budget referendum is set for Tuesday, May 18. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 pm. Here's how to vote via absentee ballot.

MADISON, CT —The town's 2021-2022 budget referendum is set for Tuesday, May 18. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 pm.

  • DISTRICT I - Walter C. Polson Middle School, 302 Green Hill Road (temporary location change from the Senior Center)
  • DISTRICT 2 - Dr. Robert H. Brown Intermediate School, 980 Durham Road (Route 79)

Absentee ballots should be available at the Town Clerk’s Office, 8 Campus Drive, by April 30. Please call 203-245-5672 to confirm availability. Appointments are recommended.


Voting by Absentee Ballot in CT is a two-step process. First, voters must complete an absentee ballot application, which are available online or from the Town Clerk’s office. That application can be put in the secured official Drop Box located outside of Town Hall, or mailed to Madison Town Clerk, 8 Campus Drive, Madison, CT 06443. Then, the Town Clerk will mail the voter their Absentee Ballot, which should begin on April 30. Next, fill out the ballot and mail it back to the Town Clerk’s office, or place it in the drop box no later than 8 p.m. on May 18.
