1 Rescued From Capsized Canoe In Connecticut River In Middletown

Crews responded to a report of a person holding onto the side of a capsized canoe in the Connecticut River, according to officials.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — One person was rescued from a capsized canoe in the Connecticut River in Middletown on Monday afternoon, according to fire officials.

Crews responded to a report of a person holding onto the side of a capsized canoe. The incident happened in the area of Meadow Meats (17 Eastern Dr.), according to fire officials.

“Middletown Marine 1 has made contact with the party and has loaded them onto Marine 1,” officials wrote on the City of Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1073 Union’s Facebook page. “They are en route to the Public Safety dock to meet up with Hunters Ambulance for an evaluation.”
