Annual Penguin Plunge to Benefit Special Olympics Goes Virtual

Going on now through April 30th

This year, Special Olympics Connecticut is holding its Penguin Plunge fundraiser virtually due to the pandemic. The event, going now through April 30th, allows participants to choose when and how to plunge. This can include taking a cold shower, jumping into a hot tub or having a water balloon fight - creativity is encouraged! To learn more and register for the event, go to soct.org and click on "Virtual Penguin Plunge." Those who take the plunge are encouraged to capture a picture or video of themselves completing the challenge and post it on Facebook and Instagram, using the hashtag #PenguinPlunge and tagging Special Olympics Connecticut (@SpecialOlympicsCT).

The Penguin Plunge fundraiser for Special Olympics Connecticut aims to bring individuals in the community together - virtually this year - to raise money and support the organization's sports, health and fitness programs for athletes of all abilities. Awards for top fundraisers will be handed out after April 30th and winners will be featured on Special Olympics Connecticut's social media platforms.

About Special Olympics Connecticut  Special Olympics Connecticut provides year-round sports training and competitions for more than 12,000 athletes of all ages with intellectual disabilities and Unified Sports® partners - their teammates without disabilities.
